On March 17, 2025, Puddin, a 16 week old, 1.9 kg male Maine Coon kitten, presented with pyrexia, lethargy and abdominal ascites. The bloodwork exhibited signs of anemia, neutrophilia, hyperglobulinemia, hypoalbuminemia and an a/g ratio of 0.3. Puddin was diagnosed with wet FIP. There were no ocular or neurological signs present.
On March 17th, FIP treatment was initiated at 6 mg/kg SID with GS-441524 injections that the owner was able to source for starter meds.
3 days into treatment, Puddin was much more alert, walking around more and his abdomen was slightly smaller. By March 24th, he was running and playing like a normal kitten.
The owner obtained a prescription from her veterinarian and ordered GS oral suspension from Clearpoint Pharmacy. Puddin was switched to the oral suspension on March 30th and treated at 15 mg/kg SID. Switching to the oral suspension was a welcome change from the daily injections and the owner was very glad to transition Puddin to oral medication for the remainder of the treatment process.
On April 14th, the owner indicated that Puddin was doing awesome and she said he was like a completely different kitten. He was playing with her dogs and starting to gain weight. She was delighted with his progress and how well he was responding to the treatment.
Follow up labs were run on April 21st. The WBC were back in the normal range and the proteins had made significant improvement, with the a/g ratio up to 0.5. The globulins were still elevated, something which was expected to continue to resolve over the next few weeks.

On June 2nd, Puddin weighed 3.4kg and new bloodwork was run. His FIP markers had fully resolved and his owner and veterinarian had no clinical concerns. On June 10th, treatment was stopped. Puddin was 3.7kg and doing absolutely fantastic.
As of September 16, 2025, Puddin continues to thrive! He loves to run on his kitty wheel and get into all kinds of mischief.
